We specialize in Working Cow Horse, Show, Rope and Ranch
horses-both finished and started prospects. We sell registered Quarter
Horses and Paints of any sex and quality grade geldings.
The horses consigned to this sale must pass an inspection
by a sifting committee in order to sell. They undergo a
visual vet check for soundness, confirmation, general condition,
quality and temperament.
The public is invited to attend the sift which takes place
on Friday, March 2, at 7:00 AM. A riding preview will begin
at 5:30 PM Friday afternoon, with cattle, so horses can
demonstrate their cattle working and roping talents and
level of training, and buyers can watch horses they are
interested in purchasing in action. Rope horses will preview
out of the box. Cutting and working cow horses will work out
of the herd and on a single cow.
Several of
the horses entered in the sale are also entered in the Stock
Horse Challenge that takes place on Friday before the
preview, at 11:00 AM., where they will be judged on their
reining, cow work and roping abilities. No matter what kind of
cowhorse athlete you are looking for, be it your next head
horse, a show horse for the working cow or versatility ranch
horse classes or a well broke ranch horse to get your work done on, you
can find the good ones here, along with fine people, exciting western
entertainment, a large western trade show and Winnemucca's
outstanding hospitality, all inside the Winnemucca Indoor
Event Center.
